design et al are delighted to announce that DSA Architects International Europe have been shortlisted for Hotel Under 200 Rooms Europe in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2016.
The Park Hyatt Cap Vermell is a five star fully functioning resort hotel, the only Hyatt hotel in Spain and the only top of the range Park Hyatt resort in Europe. The design is based on an authentic Mallorcan village, with a mixture of informal and formal composition, water meanders its way down the site and cascades into the pool below the clock tower. The village is a place that visitors might well want to come and visit, to eat, drink meet and greet friends, a journey into the island culture they have come on holiday to enjoy.
DSA Europe have been lead architects on this project since 2007. The Park Hyatt Cap Vermell is rooted to the Balearic Genius Loci, carefully chosen materials and pale colour palate set it off against the verdant landscape, the surrounding countryside and the blue Mediterranean sky. DSA Europe have been working on this project and to have produced this all new and unique destination.
The numbers, size and complexity of the project are impressive, on 50,000 m2 of green field site DSA have built 30,000 m2 of buildings, 20,000 m2 of that above ground and have provided 142 keys including 17 suites and a presidential suite. There are five fully fledged f&b outlets in 3,000m2 of restaurant and reception buildings, 2,000 m2 of function spaces including ballroom and almost 2,000 m2 of spa, other requests were met during construction including a gymnasium, bicycle centre and a kids club.
