Luxe et al are delighted to announce that Pride Mega Yachts / CIMC Raffles Yacht Ltd have been shortlisted for the Concept Over 40 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2018.
The design brief of Project Red Star was focused around the style and living requirements of Chinese customers who use their yachts for both private and corporate use whilst paying tribute to the Chinese style of living which has been refined over several centuries.
The exterior design of Project Red Star is a natural evolution of Pride Mega Yachts’s Illusion project. The focus was to further enhance the ‘world ocean explorer’ side of this majestic vessel whilst finding balance between the vertical lines of the yacht and the relative exterior windows design & arrangement. These have been well integrated in a continuous black windows strip for each deck to further enhance the uncluttered side profile of the yacht. The traditional bow design underlines the classical shape of a true gentleman’s yacht with worldwide cruising ambitions.
The interior design takes main inspiration from the rich and ancient Chinese culture; vast & representative spaces decorated with dark timbers, wooden floors, intricate Chinese style wood carvings and sumptuous silk fabrics and carpets. These all exude luxury yet simplicity through the perfectly integrated pieces of custom made furniture and wall panels, all made in custom finishes. Social moments with friends and business associates are to be enjoyed around an authentic tea tasting table to sip the rich flavours of rare tea species. The adjacent main deck dining room is the ideal venue for a lavish meal close to the blue sea, courtesy of the extensive windows. The stunning centre piece is a custom made round dining table which seats comfortably up to 18 people surrounded by Chinese artworks and artefacts on the walls.
The owner’s area forms a private apartment which perfectly balances intricate Chinese wood carvings together with bespoke Chinese furniture. Pride Mega Yachts have also designed a richly decorated marble bathroom which exudes memorable moments of relaxation surrounded by the warm lighting of candles integrated all around the stone finished bathtub.
The VIP & guest suites are all located on the main deck and are filled with lights and sea impressions through their vast windows. The decoration here is purposely inspired from the Asian style beach houses with rustic timber finishes yet tactile natural fabrics with unique pieces of loose furniture. All en-suite bathrooms are richly decorated in exotic marbles with stone finished vanities, shower compartments and hand carved bathtubs out of natural stone blocks.
The bridge deck is home to a traditional men’s club complete with a home cinema corner, intimate cigar lounge area with a spectacular view of the endless combination of the blue sea and skies. This multi-purpose room is fitted also with a bar stocked up with wines and spirits from all around the world as well as a secluded games table area where guests can enjoy some unforgettable and playful moments whilst on board. The lower deck beach club and spa area is an oasis of tranquillity directly connected to the aft swim platform where both owner’s and guests can unwind. The materials complement perfectly the purpose of this area, with natural materials like teak wood, natural stone and lacquered finishes for some antique Chinese furniture.
The designers key aspect of this project is said to be that it is completely focused on a Chinese client or a Western client that loves the Chinese culture of living. They believe that the entire interior design is consistent throughout the vessel and totally bespoke. The exterior design is both classical, timeless and a perfect envelope for its unique interior.
