design et al are delighted to announce that Catherine Wilman Interiors have been shortlisted for Bedroom Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.
Located in the heart of trendy Sheperds Bush, West London, Catherine Wilman Interiors designed a luxurious master suite centre around the clients’ unique style. This house is a celebration of quirky, individuality with all the opulence and drama needed to create an artistic and fun family home. The clients wanted to create a space that fulfilled their needs of family life but were adamant on keeping their playful, urban lifestyle. By completely opening up the first floor, the previously cramped bedroom and dated archway into the bathroom, was instantly transformed.
Seeing the expanse of the space as one whole area allowed Catherine Wilman Interiors to be creative with the layout. The clients were specific about wanting a large luxury en-suite that felt part of the bedroom. This was achieved by creating a panelled walk-in wardrobe area, through to the bathroom. Finished in a contrasting, dark moody colour tone. Catherine Wilman Interiors raised the door heights and concealed a pair of sliding doors, allowing versatility to the bedroom. Zoning each space individually while insuring the master suite worked cohesively as one luxurious design.
In keeping with the individual and trendy nature the client wanted to achieve, it was an important factor to make sure this Victorian terrace was given an urban twist. The large exposed brick wall spanning the wall and chimney breast allows the urban London history to shine through and become a key feature.
Creating an initial wow factor was extremely important. Taking advantage of the high Victorian ceilings, opening up the doorway to new heights transforms this bedroom into a strikingly beautiful suite. The elegant tall doors flood the room and hallway with light and give a dramatic sense of spaciousness adding another depth and dimension to how the rooms feel when entered.
