design et al are delighted to announce that Maison Interiors have been shortlisted for Kitchen Design over £50,000 Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019
Cosy and inviting living space, with clean lines and an elegant touch.
Inspired by a white kitchen with a contemporary feel and an exotic wood dining table already owned by the client, Maison Interiors set to work creating an efficient living space with maximum storage options that’s was highly functional and didn’t compromise on style and comfort.
At the client’s request, a generous sized bench was custom upholstered with a luxurious yet comfortable blue velvet. This must-have element sits perfectly underneath the window and houses discreet spacious storage for the whole family. Along with the custom roller shades that protect from the afternoon sun, this area has become a favourite spot for the client to read a book or have a glass of wine. The abstract wall paper, Leo by Pierre Frey, placed on a feature wall resembles an extravagant canvas that adds a wow-factor to the room injecting colour and pattern. To stop the large dining area wall from looking empty this wallpaper with its splattered glaze patterns has an abstract look that evokes the works of Jackson Pollock, which inspired the rest of the projects. The rich tones of the dining table and chairs and sepia family photos add warmth that grounds the dining space.
To transform the kitchen space, sleek custom cabinetry was introduced in soft white, with open display shelves and efficient built-in appliances. Smooth polished brass handles and walnut accents bring a new tone to the minimalist design of the cabinets and the refurbished hardwood floors enhance the texture and colour to the finished look. To create a seamless flow, the design flow and colour pallet were extended from the adjoining living room and kitchen.
