Havwoods have been shortlisted for Flooring Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2020.
The design brief was to create 5 en-suite bedrooms with 2 master suites, a new garage, a BBQ area and terrace with a fire place, a ground-floor exclusive for social areas and a maids room separate from the rest of the house. The key aspect of the project was to design something sober but elegant and luxurious at the same time. This was met as the design kept the original feel of the property whilst adding a fresh new look.
The design works well as while creating something new and unique the villa maintained its original and distinctive look and Portuguese cultural heritage. Built in the 1950’s the villa was constructed in a typical Portuguese style. The refurbishment has made is more modern whilst still respecting the original design.
Havwoods’ luxurious wooden floorboard from the venture plank collection made the interiors of the property look stunning. What made it all the more eye catching was the unique pattern the designer had created with the way the boards were laid. The flooring really finished the whole look of the property and gives it a luxurious feeling due to being used throughout.
Venture Plank is a quality, high performance, engineered board characterised by a comprehensive spectrum of interesting shades and a smooth finish. Planks range from 12-21mm thick, and from 175-260mm wide. Whilst lacquered and unfinished boards are included in the collection, the majority are oiled – some with the new, ultra-tough Valour oiled finish whilst others utilise a fourth generation UV cured Hardwax Oil. Both of these finishes provide exceptional durability whilst maintaining a natural appearance. Venture Plank is ideal for most residential and commercial applications and can be used with Havwoods’ Magna raised access flooring system. All products are suitable for installation over underfloor heating.
