“Seven hundred metres square of elegance, innovation, style, food and wine excellence. A real temple of Made in Italy. A three hundredand sixty degree experience of welcoming and flight”.
Located in Terminal 1 in the departures area in Rome Fiumicino airport this is no longer just a place to relax while awaiting the flight, but an authentic “flagship store” of Alitalia’s core values and features. Showcasing Italian excellence worldwide and also including collaboration of top Italian brands such as Illy, Eataly, B&B Italia, MDF Italia, Prandina, Gruppo Sintesi and FSC Professional Show S.p.A.
This is the last step in a multiple-stage scheme aimed, operation-after-operation, at making Alitalia the world ambassador of Italian excellence.
Aeronautics is the dominant theme inside the “Dolce Vita”, thanks to the furnishing materials, stylized pieces of reclaimed original aeroplane parts such as rotor-blade spinners transformed into standard lamps or an MD80 radome used as a suspension lamp.
The theme is further developed with the presence of a flight simulator, an innovative choice inside the Lounges which Alitalia has provided to allow clients to experience the sensation of piloting an aeroplane.
The Pilot Bar is the focal point of the refreshment and relaxation area, characterised by its use of original on-board instruments and its range of the top names in Italian wines and food.
The passengers can come and taste the best Italian coffee with Illy and try a gourmet selection of “Made in Italy” culinary excellence from Eataly.
The lounge also has a dedicated area for Alitalia merchandising, where guests may browse and purchase, online, unique products bearing the airline’s trademark. The big windows overlooking the runway of Leonardo Da Vinci airport completes this visual and sensorial experience of travel.
