The WC Beautique Hotel is an original and unique space dedicated to ageless people. A vibrant and eclectic, provocative space, where emotions are to be felt under the skin or, as they would say, above the water! The WC Beautique Hotel is located on Avenida Almirante Reis, an area of Lisbon city where multicultural movements are emerging, assuming nowadays as a hub of creativity, dynamism and aggregator of people looking for positive differentiation. The WC Beautique Hotel has 41 rooms (Standard WC Room; Superior WC Room; Deluxe Oval Bed WC Room and Prime Bathtub WC Room); a restaurant; a bar and a rooftop area for private events which can hold up to 36 people.
Atelier Nini Andrade Silva believe that throughout a revealing exercise of the essence of space the hotels main traits are implied – the creative trait and the courage to cut through the conventions! The WC Beautique Hotel is irreverent, dedicated to the creative and contains enormous passion for avant-garde, daring freshness and art. The fusion and traits of the hotel are born from the inspiration of a liquid world, from baths, waters, vapours and drips, culminating in luxury bathroom areas throughout, this can be felt by walking barefoot touching the floor dotted with foam and the walls which are damp and fresh.
Upon arrival at the reception area, the liquid inspiration is instant. The area is formed by two bathtubs and a large waterfall that covers the body of those who decided to dive in! The dissident art emerges throughout, visitors will come across a huge ice cube that melts on the floor and gives shape and form to a sculptural piece transformed into a social bathroom area. On the lower floor, the restaurant gives us the sensation of movement and fluidity. Through a kind of optical illusion, the set of mirrors in the restaurant transmit reflecting images of waterfalls that multiply throughout the space.
The environment throughout the hotel becomes more indolent, languid forms and unclear images that arise with the opening of eyes submerged by a prolonged bath. Steam, foam and drops of water cover the ceiling, walls, and floor, where blue water predominates, which sweetly floods the space and green alludes to the sediments at the bottom of fountains that formerly surfaced in this area of the city. Atelier Nini Andrade Silva believe that they were able to aggregate the space as a whole, giving consistency to a reckless and irreverent concept. The aesthetic coherence, the harmony of the materials, the capacity of surprising the host and to transport itself to a different world – a liquid world from baths, water, vapours and drips – makes this hotel very unique and special!
