BA-HAUS KNF have been shortlisted for Hotel Over 200 Rooms – Americas & Caribbean Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2020.
Built in 1939 by renowned Art Deco architect Roy France, the 251-room Palms Hotel and Spa is an eco-friendly oasis that brings a Caribbean-vibe to the sands of Miami Beach. The refreshed interiors of The Palms embrace the property’s unparalleled gardens with a tropical, inspired-by-nature feel, and welcome guests with the true essence of a warm and relaxing beach side resort, where total well-being is at the centre of every experience.
The 3,000-square-foot lobby showcases high ceilings and grand columns, channelling a safari vibe. The hotel underwent a full renovation and saw the addition of the award-winning Essensia Restaurant and Lounge.
The driveway and main entrance to The Palms were refreshed to create a grander sense of arrival and curb appeal, including new flooring, columns, and furnishings. In the front lobby and Great Room, new furnishings in soothing, ocean-inspired hues were added to create modernized seating areas, with new contemporary light fixtures and wall treatments to brighten the space. A new concierge desk enhances both the design and functionality of the reception area. Specialist artisan skills were used for this project; with handmade ruffled lamp shades in the reception area and an Onix handmade Chandelier on grand display in the bar.
With the lobby updates, the designers were able to preserve and enhance the timeless, warm, and laid-back style that The Palms is known for, while increasing the usage and operational effectiveness of certain areas. In the small meeting rooms, a visual upgrade that includes new wall treatments, flooring, lighting, and artwork, contributes to a sleek and inviting boutique atmosphere for corporate meetings and special events. The guest room colour scheme draws upon the soft hues of sand and sea, with custom designed wood furnishings.
