Bisha Hotel Toronto opened its doors in September 2017 and quickly became one of the city’s top must-see properties. Not only is it a game-changer when it comes to interior design in a small luxury hotel, but it is a perfect harmony between traditional luxury, art and a modern space. Alessandro Munge of Studio Munge worked hand-in-hand with Charles Khabouth, CEO, INK Entertainment and co-owner of Bisha Hotel Toronto to offer interiors that are impactful and bold, yet still embody elements that are sophisticated and intimate.
Offering guests a distinct experience from the moment they arrive, Bisha features two Jun Kaneko sculptures on either side of the hotel’s front doors. The property’s lobby is empowering and distinct, featuring Jeff Goodman hand-blown glass birds, custom cut floors in nero and bianco arabesque marble, crushed velvet paneled walls with jet-black lacquered wood trim and an etched golden reception desk and backdrop wall to match.
Its luxury hotel rooms and suites feature graphite carpet with arched patterned details. The design resembles an edgy and sophisticated residential flat – think armoires rather than closets, a custom minibar cart celebrating cocktail culture as well as custom TV stands, bed frames and marble vanities. From the metallic fuchsia pink Jeff Koons sculpture in the lobby to the framed scarves of Damien Hirst for Alexander McQueen in the bar lounge, up to the pop art prints of Andy Warhol in the corridors and elevator lobbies, guests are transported to another space and time.
