CONGRATULATIONS TO BLVD INTERNATIONAL SHORTLISTED FOR HOTEL OVER 200 ROOMS – GLOBAL AWARD IN THE INTERNATIONAL HOTEL & PROPERTY AWARDS 2019

design et al are delighted to announce that BLVD International has been shortlisted for Hotel over 200 Rooms – Global Award in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2019.

The design coordinated physical functions and emotional aesthetics, radiating the interior and architecture, and weaving a breath-taking journey through the tropical seaside landscape. Based on the brand concept of young fashion and business casual, the hotel draws on the visual symbols of Sanya culture, providing guests with a fresh and natural experience. BLVD International used different materials and design languages to create the forms of waves, by using 3-dimensional metal mesh, wood materials, glass and stones. The best outcome has been the creation of simple and clean design languages with mixed materials of wood, glass, sandstones and carpets and fabrics, neutral tones, combined with highlights of oceanic blue colour. Art accessories of clay pots, wooden sculptures, murals and metal carvings give the space delightful experiences.

BLVD International had the main design goal of giving a unique resort experience in a city hotel to business and leisure travellers, by reflecting the spirit of Hyatt of place. In this specific design, the company created contrasts and delights, some gradient art laminated glass, ocean theme related colourful carpet, art installations and sculptures, that are carefully arranged all over public areas. BLVD International also used moisture and mildew resistant materials to enhance the functions.

The lobby on the first floor creates a simple and comfortable space with restrained and concise design language.  The wooden reception desk and staggered marbles set the tone for stylish business. The gradient art laminated glass surrounding the elevator hall sparks the rhythm from the sea to the beach. The bar area stands side by side with the reception desk, surrounded by a hemispherical metal chandelier, which increases spatial change.  Intentional ceilings, textured sidewalls, partitions of bamboo baskets and other symbols with distinctive cultural imprints make the recreational areas meet the functional needs, but also coincide with regional contexts, architectural styles and the environment.

The Restaurant highlights the brand’s vitality in a stylish and light tone. The diversity of seats, lighting, and floor materials eliminate the embarrassment of irregularly shaped and oversized areas. The open social experience and the unimpeded penetration of natural light create a relaxed atmosphere of “a home from home”.
