Their client, a young male entrepreneur, resides in the apartment by himself with overseas guests visiting frequently throughout the year. As such, the requirements were to create a bachelor style apartment, which was also equipped for regular entertaining. The brief for the cloakroom was to create ‘a show stopper’. Boscolo’s approach to the space was to produce a bold statement, with a design that would not necessarily suit other larger areas of the home as they would be too over powering, but work in these small spaces and become a talking point for guests. The style was to be contemporary and illustrious with dark, rich finishes complemented by metallic colours to create a luxurious cloakroom.

Key aspects of the project was the ‘Civic Bee’ Timorous Beastie’s wallpaper. Well known for their eccentric patterns, the team chose a charcoal colour palette with antique gold accents which gave a sense of masculinity, and the intelligent light system throughout. The approach with this room was to enhance the ‘moodiness’ of the room with various levels of light. This was through a combination of downs lights, decorative wall lights and low level concealed led lighting. The decorative wall lights selected were a play on the bumble bee’s stinger.
