design et al are delighted to announce the successful shortlist for Camellia Interiors for the Living Space UK Award.
This two storey property is a family home with exceptional coastal views and a combination of an old and new build resulting in an expanse of beautiful living space.The clients’ wanted a feeling of ‘bringing the outdoors in’ and in turn asked for a scheme to reflect this. Another wish from the client was to be able to enjoy their property at any point throughout the year. They needed a flexible design, where by they could holiday there during any season. The design works well because it suits the clients’ wants and lifestyle perfectly. It’s complimentary of the coast, spacious for the family and their bespoke furniture makes it personal and original to them.
The juxtaposition of the spaces was considered and Camellia Interiors designed a second staircase for better access and increased the number of rooms.The internal design scheme reflects the immediate surroundings; with the use of soft blues mirroring the sea and greys and silvers, the rocks. The introduction of stone cladding surrounding the fireplace adds drama and an elemental luxury to a large space.
The scheme helps with the fusion of indoor and outdoor living. With plenty of direct access from living spaces to the wrap around decks and balconies. The interior is designed to complement the exterior – both are stunning, making the clients happy to be both outdoors and indoors at any point during the year. The family are able to enjoy their property throughout because of the flexible design.
