design et al are delighted to announce that Cittolin Polli & Associés SA have been shortlisted for Residential Architectural Property Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.
This project involved the development of 6 penthouses in Pully with contemporary architecture designed with quality materials providing a beautiful panorama of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps. Located in an exceptional setting along the avenue General Guisan, the project takes its place on a plot of approximately 4200 m2 benefiting from access to the lake. Leaned on the slope in a park on the water’s edge, the project which meets Minergie reduced energy standards with wood pellet fired central heating, develops on four levels connected to a parking area in the back. In order to make the most of the ground, a vegetated patio is arranged to the north, giving the apartments of the lower levels an original crossing space.Cittolin Polli & Associes SA’s favourite aspect of the project is its identity. The shade sails are articulated on the terraces to allow the modulation of privacy and protection from the sun. They give an additional dynamic to the facades, because even when they are fully wound on their diagonal axes, slender masts and taut cables are easily identifiable nautical attributes. Each of the 6 penthouses are treated as a unique object and adapts to the lifestyle of its owner: for one, a master bedroom in the south enjoying a clear view of the lake and the mountains, or on the contrary, protected to the west in a cocoon of greenery. The ventilated facades are covered with grey quartzite, which is treated in two different ways (softened or grooved) in order to catch the light. One of the challenges for the installation of Voiles du Leman was the preservation of the historic situation of the Villa de Maître, which occupied only the top of the plot.
