design et al are delighted to announce that Coe Mudford Interior Design have been shortlisted for Luxury Residence – Canada award  in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.

Luxury family home in one of Toronto’s most prestigious neighbourhoods featuring custom stone features and high-end furnishings.

Coe Mudford Interior Design were enlisted to design for a family of 5 with 2 pet dogs and 2 pet cats.  The materials and finishes had to be durable to stand up to this busy family yet look luxurious and sophisticated. The clients also enjoy cooking and entertaining at home, so the kitchen incorporates some unusual appliances such as a teppanyaki grill, walk in refrigerator and built in coffee machine and carbonated water filtration faucet.  The kitchen countertop and the backsplash are back-lit which showcases the risky selection of the marble.

The back of the house is open concept which suits this family’s day to day life and entertaining needs. Coe Mudford Interior Design designed the staircase as another unexpected feature in this house.  The gloss black handrail is custom designed with brass metal inlays, boldly painted black risers and stringer with elegant metal pickets capped with polished brass collars.  Above the stair is a grand skylight with a metal designed medallion. The two-story family room with soaring windows to a beautiful outdoor terrace and exceptional landscaping.

As the interior designers, Coe Mudford Interior Design were involved in the project at the architectural design stage, so were able in implement their design ideas for the best possible layout and feature in the home. Coe Mudford Interior Design designed and selected every piece of this house including the flooring, ceiling details, plumbing fixtures, lighting, fireplaces, as well as the furnishing and decorating including the bed linens and tableware. The neighbourhood of Teddington Park is an older more established area with grand homes-built generations ago.  This home architecturally is very grand and more traditional so that it fits in well with the streetscape and does not stand out as a new build on an old street.
