Congratulations to Nicholas Anthony shortlisted for Kitchen Over £50,000 Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019

design et al are delighted to announce that Nicholas Anthony  have been shortlisted for Kitchen Over £50,000 Award  in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.

The clients came to Nicholas Anthony as they were aware of the SieMatic brand and had a 30-year-old SieMatic kitchen in the stunning Art Deco house they were renovating as their family home. The plans were to keep the smooth Art Deco lines of the house whilst adding on a sizeable extension and the theme of the Art Deco to be carried through into the interior in a sleek, yet modern way.

The brief was to keep the feel of the traditional but with all modern appliances, the client loved the matt lacquer SieMatic S2 kitchen, in the graphite grey and lotus white and the stunning nickel gloss accents, adding a touch of Art Deco glamour to the scheme.

A brand-new Aga was to be the central feature of the kitchen and a bespoke marble splashback behind the Aga and for the breakfast bar was a must. The clients and the designers spent a morning in the stone yard carefully selecting a material that would look amazing and be in keeping with the feel of the house.

A lilac Milas was decided upon with beautiful veining creating a totally original space. Gaggenau appliances were used in the scheme and bring another luxury element to the feel of the room. A curved bulkhead was designed over the long island to add the Art Deco feel and pendant feature lights highlight this element.
