The resort is situated near the historic city of Sibenik, Croatia. It was designed to be unique and modern with Mediterranean influences throughout the architecture and interior design. The collaboration between designers Nikola Basic and Marko Murtic is so well executed and it is a fully integrated project. The team’s main concept was to develop a unique design leading away from global trends which are shaping the hospitality industry today, creating their own vision of Mediterranean architecture whilst in keeping with the heritage associated with Sibenik.
Basic building materials such as white concrete cast in wood templates became the sculptural design element in both the interior and exterior. Raw cut oak wood are used throughout, contrasting with the texture and warm colours to the bare concrete walls. Sculptures, ceramic walls and paintings maintain the feeling of a luxurious space, something which the designers felt strongly about. Having a hotel in which the opulence is still felt whilst keeping in touch with historic elements was in the forefront of the team’s mind when they were designing this hotel.
When completing the interior of the hotel, Emur Studio developed and designed a number of interior elements such as furniture, lights and carpets. The speciality design makes this project even more interesting and unique, providing a tailored experience for every guest which they won’t be able to receive anywhere else. The unique feeling of this hotel keeps guests interested at every turn and makes them want to discover more of the design as their stay progresses.
