design et al are delighted to announce that Emur Studio have been shortlisted for Hotel Under 200 Rooms Europe Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2016.
The resort is situated near the historic city of Sibenik, Croatia. It was designed to be unique and modern with Mediterranean influences throughout the architecture and interior design. The collaboration between designers Nikola Basic and Marko Murtic is so well executed and it is a fully integrated project. The team’s main concept was to develop a unique design leaning away from global trends which are shaping the hospitality industry today, creating their own vision of Mediterranean architecture whilst in keeping with the heritage associated with Sibenik.
Speciality pieces including furniture, lights and carpets make the design more unique than others in the area, it makes the guest feel as if they are staying in their own individual apartment, rather than a generic hotel which can be the feeling in large chain hotel groups. The public spaces of the hotel are spacious and flowing, the fully integrated design makes full use of the open plan, rather than cluttering the area, the designers kept things simple and open, keeping that feeling of relaxation and tying back in with the Mediterranean architecture.
Interior elements are reduced to the bare function but with addition of the second layer that contain the colours and soft touch of the specially designed textile carpets and natural textiles, make the whole design unique and interesting.
