design et al are delighted to announce that HOLA Design have been shortlisted for City Space (Apartment/Penthouse) Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017.
Modern apartment in the most prestigious residential building in the Polish capital. The interior maintains the simple aesthetics with subtle references to the culture of the Far East. The apartment features a picture window with full views of the Warsaw cityscape. It has a breath-taking view of the Praga district of the city. The exclusive location, sublime taste of its owner and great attention to detail were offered in this ‘turn-key’ project by HOLA Design. The carefully selected furnishings – the items tasteful both in the form, colour scheme and texture – complete the space maintained in a modern, slightly informal style that is successfully intertwined into an arrangement reminiscent of the culture of the Far East. For this project, the studio specifically created most of the furnishings. There is a mirrored wall with an engraved geometric design that dominates the living area. The wall not only constitutes a decorative element of the room but also corrects its proportions. The bedroom is saturated with the atmosphere of the land of cherry blossom. A frame of the painting on the wall above the headboard matches the frame of the mirror in the living room. The portal element surrounding the headboard was individually designed by HOLA Design and made by a carpentry studio, with which the design company has a long-standing working relationship.HOLA Design’s favourite aspect of the project is the subtle Japanese design details scattered around the interiors of the apartment. The designers believe the project is consistent and coherent and state that this is the power behind every good project, regardless of its style. Many of the elements for the interiors had to be individually designed and the designers needed the specialist skills of carpenters, masons, ironworkers, and glaziers.
