Congratulations to Marazzi Design who have been shortlisted for a Kitchen over £100,000 award

design et al are delighted to announce that Marazzi Design have been shortlisted for a Kitchen over £100,000 award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2015

The brief was to create a kitchen which was functional, sociable and above all, have wow factor, a design which would be totally unexpected in a period barn conversion.
The starting point of the design was to open up the downstairs area of a 19th century barn, which had been converted some 30 years earlier.

The change to the layout was integral in creating the right atmosphere for entertaining and working within a functional yet unique kitchen concept. The cloakroom and boot room which once occupied this kitchen space, has been relocated to the far end of the barn, the kitchen now leads directly onto the dining and living area.

The classic wood flooring and oak stable barn doors balance and frame the stunning kitchen, but also remind you of the history of the room. The colour has been used to great effect, animating the curves on the furniture and making the kitchen stand proud. The inlaid Venetian glass bar teardrops on either side of the 4 meter island, are back lit with colour change LED’s, creating an illusion of the glass floating from the seamless volcanic worktop. The separate bar areas, invite people to sit and join in the kitchen experience, with a built in champagne chiller on hand, the experience is readily sociable.
