design et al are delighted to announce that Nathan Anthony have been shortlisted for a Sofa Award in The International Product Design Awards 2016
Inspired by the Dutch “De Stijl” artistic movement of the early 20th century, Tina Nicole of Nathan Anthony wanted to fuse together , a simplified visual composition of vertical and horizontal lines with the curved shapes found in mid-century design.
The Elan sofa features a unique, asymmetrically faceted geometric back application. The hand-quilted panels of the outside back can be sewn into an infinite number of textile combinations, from clean, monochromatic looks as shown here, or with contrasting textures and bold mixes of bright primary colours. The shapely arm and inside back tailoring add to the sofas individuality. By mixing mid-century inspiration with De Stijl design concepts, Nathan Anthony have created a timeless and beautiful silhouette not yet seen in the interior décor. Elan floats effortlessly in the room yet commands everyone’s attention.
