Dynamic new function suite within historical landscaped setting to existing hotel with reception, break-out spaces and incorporating refreshed meeting rooms The Cedar Suite at the Grove introduces a dynamic alternative functions venue that is elliptical in plan in contrast to the existing function suites at the Grove. Set below a living roof with generous eaves and a sloping soffit, the jewel-like setting of this suite contrasts with and also compliments the established masonry context. The oxidised copper structural form rests as a green and living table above curved glass with embedded leaves in the louvres. The internal/external relationship is both dynamic and calming and has proven to be a space to both enjoy and explore. The re-modelled interiors and new entrance within the existing West Wing of the Grove create a crisp and high-tech functional set of break-out spaces and meeting rooms with industrial elements and mobile counters to accommodate flexibility in meeting individual user requirements. The new Cedar Suite at the Grove has delivered a fresh and alternative function experience within the overall programme creativity and innovation in transforming the Grove to a new level of guest experience.
The success of the Grove as one of the UK’s most sought after major function venues has needed to respond to guest and client requirements. The award-winning hotel was completed nearly 15 years ago and its success in a competitive market place has required the initiation of a programme of rejuvenation and transformation to address market competition in the period as well as changing client preferences and requirements. This introduction of new facilities in a more dynamic and contemporary style refreshes an established and highly successful hotel to increase market share and provide a wider range of facilities.
