design et al are delighted to announce that Robert Angell Design International have won the Restaurant Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2016.
The design brief for this Spanish inspired restaurant was to take Northern Spain’s rich history and culture and incorporate it into a contemporary design with a feature bar that can be used for drinks, creating a more lively atmosphere in the evening so the restaurant vibe is exciting and the bar complements both service style and the rest of the interior. The whole vibe works very well. The banquette seating with the leather saddle back rests and the leather wrapping fiddle rails give a stunning equine feel of quality and luxury. The Fret cut screens backing on to the banquettes complete the look. The layers and materials are detailed without being complicated yet give a sophisticated look of warmth and comfort. The look is relaxed, chic and comfortable. There is a large central bar over which a central feature chandelier echoes the swirling air patterns of a Spanish Bulls horns as it takes on its fearless matador. The restaurant is cocooned under a copper barrel vaulted ceiling brining a beautiful warm glow to the interior and uplifting its guests.
The colours merge together beautifully and subtly bringing in earth tones such as warm ochres and dark burgundies. The vibe it creates when guests are dining is joyful and it just creates a great space to dine in along with the delicious food it compliments so well. The vibe is sexy and evokes a relaxed atmosphere which will complement the amazing dishes being served.
