The brief was to design a lighting scheme for an open plan kitchen/dining/living room and an entrance hall and porch of a refurbished and extended house of over 5000 square feet.
The Clients wanted a contemporary lighting scheme that complimented the style of the building and the proposed interior decoration using energy efficient light sources. Importantly the lighting scheme needed to be highly flexible to allow for a variety of different uses of the space by the family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenage boys) and to make the large open space feel homely and relaxing.
The lighting compliments the clean lines of the space and enhances key architectural features but at the same time softening them so that this large open space could become an intimate and relaxing one too. It is striking scheme yet subtle and gentle.
