This tailor-designed home serves as a Pied a Terre; a truly personalised urban escape apartment in thriving Singapore .The owners are a mature couple who enjoy a portfolio of homes around the world. They wanted their Singapore apartment to be a simple, chic escape where they can spend time relaxing away from their busy schedule. As the word ‘relax’ suggests, the hues were set to be light and neutral, the lines simple and fresh.
Being well travelled as they are, the owner’s desired a home space which was set-apart from the hotels and residences between which they divide their time. Their design brief was for interiors which reflect their personal style and they rejected modern, stylised furniture in place of comfortable, durable design which was welcoming and homely.
The home’s soft colour palette is streamlined by some bold accents such as the emerald green elements. In keeping with the owner’s desire for personalised design, most of the furniture was tailor made for this home. Aside from the refined furnishing elements, the design team selected a variety of art to offset the design in a manner which maintained the ambience of calm and comfort which informs this project
The Master suite is, correctly, a much grander affair. This large, airy and elegant room is arranged in a way which creates an integral sense of calm and relaxation. The colour scheme is muted and peaceful, in keeping with the function of the space. The expert use of comforting and tactile textures ensure it is an inviting space; a haven in the city. The suite has been designed to separate it from the rest of the home, where the entertaining spaces facilitate socialising, the bedroom is a private, quiet space.
