D&A were instructed for the interior architecture for a new headquarters building for Oman’s foremost petroleum production and exploration company. This prominent and well-established corporation in Oman has been provided with an innovative treatment to its existing structure. Space is unified with an open plan office strategy, supporting communication and connectivity.

Coloured glass and carpeting reference the company logo, reinforcing the colour scheme on each floor. Living moss tiles line the walls, strengthening the eco theme, along with water features and planting. A ‘Home and Away’ concept is applied across the interior, offering ‘home’ and ‘away’ havens for all employees. The ‘home’ aspect is reflected in the overall open plan office environment, meeting rooms and shared facilities–relevant to the Omani culture. The ‘away’ areas are the breakout areas. These are individually styled to reflect the multicultural heritage of the staff, offering an escape for employees to recharge.

Meeting rooms and enclosed offices form the core along The Walk. Workstations are placed at the external skin to allow for the maximum amount of natural light. The Walk is a key aspect of the interior architecture, forming the skeleton of the headquarters. It links six blocks together, highlighting elements of the company’s history along the way. It defines circulation and flow, celebrates milestones, and enhances the overall experiences of employees and visitors alike.Placement of areas along The Walk also promotes internal collaboration between staff.
