Fancy by DADA have been shortlisted for Private Jet Design – Concept Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2020.
The DBJ Business Jet Concept has been described as flying superyacht by Fancy by DADA. This Business Jet was inspired by a 67-meter motor yacht project where the owner wanted his Business Jet and tenders to be a reflection of the mothership. The brief called for a luxurious interior that felt fresh yet extremely luxurious sparing no expense, everything had to be custom designed to match the lifestyle and needs of the owner, his family and friends while still being able to conduct business at 37,000 feet.
The owner wanted to break the stigma of the typical aircraft layout and open the plan to absorb natural light and the feeling of open space while allowing for ultimate comfort on long haul flights for everyone he flies with. The redesign of the fuselage windows was important in achieving this open and airy feeling.
As the designers combined the feeling of being at one with the ocean on the yacht, Fancy by DADA decided to bring the sky into the aircraft, not only by using lighting and windows to bring in as much natural light as possible, but the choice of plush, light and comfortable materials to make the interior feel calming and welcoming, an interior that will be a pleasure to travel in for long periods of time.
The design brief was to bring a modern feeling to the interior of the aircraft but also to not forget the heritage of strong, well thought-out design, something that won’t soon be forgotten and could be enjoyed by all that have the pleasure of flying on board. This was achieved with the materials and art collection that was selected, the feeling of good design had to be international.
