Design Intervention & project ‘Maximalist Modern Singapore’ shortlisted

Design Intervention achieve further shortlist success at the International Design & Architecture Awards 2015. Their project ‘Maximalist Modern Singapore’ has been shortlisted for the Asia-Pacific Residential £1-2.5 Million Award.

The block is over thirty years old and this unit has been extensively renovated to create a sophisticated contemporary home for a fashionable couple.

The owners wanted a home that would reflect their personalities and lifestyles. This couple wanted a sophisicated, luxurious home that would serve as a glamorous backdrop for entertaining while also providing a warm welcoming retreat that would provide a place to relax and recharge at the end of a busy day. As entrepreneurs, this couple were open to taking risks . They were open to fresh ideas and not afraid to push the boundaries of design. The brief was to include rich, jewel colours in the public spaces, yet still maintain a crisp, fresh feel. For the private spaces, the owners preferred a calmer look, yet still with an undercurrent of luxury.

“Our favourite aspect of the project is the rich blend of colours, patterns and materials” – Design Intervention.

“It works so well, as though individually striking, the range of materials have been meticulously selected to complement each other to create a bold yet harmonious design scheme.”
