Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
I have studied at different universities. Including illustration, photography, free painting, industrial design and set design (film). For 18 years I designed, almost exclusively, hotel projects.
How would you describe your personal design style?
Style changes as times change, only the philosophy for the approach of each project should have a common thread.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
Look at the “Living coulture” in all areas. Fashion, art, music and social behaviour. I go and visit London often, the world metropolis for new trends in any kind of design.
In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Design knows only one direction, towards the future. Design has the task of carrying the “Living-Coulture” into the future as one of the bearers of social evolution.
Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2017 and beyond.
– Search for new materials that inspire your design and move forward.
– Pay attention to the technological developments in the field of light and functionality.
– Do not forget the look for the guest’s needs and needs.
– Join existing food and beverage concepts to get support for their new ideas.
– Last, but not least: Give more artistic input to current and upcoming projects.
If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design, what would it be?
Designers should not forget that they are culture-creating and should do their job accordingly.
How important are The International Hotel and Property Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?
The International Hotel and Property Awards are an important barometer for the quality and manageability of a design office. For the designers who are honoured with the award, this is also the proof of an outstanding achievement.
What projects are you currently working on?
We are currently active in projects of very different categories. We are working on 5 * deluxe projects, such as the Steigenberger Grandhotel Frankfurter Hof, as well as projects in the budget sector, which meanwhile also expect innovative concepts.
What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
This year, we are happy to have some projects that we can design according to our own ideas. Here we can show how much we have learned and how to experiment with the future.

I love so many different styles of genres and much, which I do not know yet, changed my list of favourites.

Gin Tonic at 11 o´clock. God save the Queen!
And french blood sausage with mashed potatoes, onion rings, apple slices and green salad.
Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
Social loafing with my kids.
If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
Painter, Photographer, Musician. Or reader for the Queen, may be.
