Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts B.A.from National University of Singapore and has more than a decade worth of experience in designing show houses by working alongside UK and Japanese designers during my early years.
How would you describe your personal interior design style?
Contemporary classic style and I enjoy giving the interiors a glamorous and elaborate touch though accessorizing.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
All over the world, during my travels. I believe a designer tends to be influenced by his or her experiences, possibly a mentor or work surroundings etc.
In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Sustainability. Being an interior designer goes beyond designing something aesthetically appealing and functional. Many designers are being empowered to make important decisions in mega projects/commercial spaces. Through the materials specifications, industrial processes and construction methods, the designer can help to converse and save the earth by being ‘green’ with the materials they proposed i.e., specifying LED lights, recycled materials etc. This is an ongoing pursuit of knowledge that will change/improve the environment we live in.

Innovation, Efficiency, Sustainability, Textures and Contrast
If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to interior design schemes, what would it be?
Choose an interior design scheme that will stand the test of time especially if it’s for self-stay.
How important are The International Design and Architecture Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?
More important than a pay raise!
What projects are you currently working on?
Residential show houses and good class bungalows in Singapore and Malaysia.
What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
To create more flagship projects and be recognised for the good projects that we have done.

Your favourite hotel / restaurant / bar? The Grand Hyatt in Beijing. They got me with their indoor heated pool and the nice chocolates they leave on your bedside after they turn down the bed.

With kids: Having Fun at the beach, the park, the pool, the playground.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be? If I weren’t designing interiors, I would be designing evening gowns.
