Tell us a little about your background in design.

I was born in Hong Kong and graduated with a Bachelor degree at the School of Interior Design in Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada.I have more than 15 years of eminent experiences in Space Design. I love design on retail and residential aspects. CLDW have had a lot of commissioned projects including the world ’s top fashion an d retail brands. We have been awarded the best retail /office design across Asia Pacific by the world’ s renowned International Property Awards 2012,2013, 2014 and 2015.

How would you describe your personal interior design style?

Practicing a primitive philosophy of “ Minimalism to Maximisation” .

Where does your design inspiration come from?
Most of my inspiration comes from life and working experiences, as well as traveling. Different sources often get me thinking and lead to new ideas or solutions.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

Consumers are paying more attention on eco-friendly material, functionality of products, and details on design. They love it when designers can bring really great design and simple capability to something that doesn’t cost much.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2014 and beyond.

  • Timeless
  • Natural and eco-friendly materials
  • Interactive/ dynamic elements by incorporating latest technology
  • 6 senses: touch, smell, sight, taste, hearing , air
  • Most importantly, design that touches people’s hearts

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to interior design schemes, what would it be?

Be practical and create the most out of limitations. Because in the end, this is what people really want.

How important are The International Design and Architecture Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?

Receivers would be honoured and excited by the awards. The awards would give receivers solid recognition and give them motivations to work harder.
