What direction do you feel design is moving towards in general terms?

Modern, minimalistic, organic

What projects are you currently working on?

72m, 85m, 100m. a support vessel… some others as well not specified

A designer’s work is so diverse – how do you manage to hold down a career and a life?

Creating anything captivating requires inspiration; a designer has to nurture their life to be inspired, this is on going…

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2014 and beyond.

Windows, space, flow, lines, edge

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?

Organic in the shapes, they way they connect. This can mean hi-tech but in a timeless fashion.

How important are The International Yacht and Aviation Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?

The IY&A Awards are important for recognizing a broad spectrum of talent in the area of luxury private travel – yachts and aviation. They cover concepts as well as built projects which are important for projects that are yet to be lived or were too spectacular to be realized as of yet.

How do you relax?

Designing a yacht. Or if I am too exhausted, watching a movie.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

To win the awards and sign more contacts, travel to Australia and New Zealand.

Final thoughts; tell us a little more about yourself 

Your favourite place to travel to in the world?
To see my family in Australia and NZ, also I love the remote islands in Thailand and safari in Botswana.

Your favourite hotel/ restaurant/ bar?
Soneva Kiri Six Senses, Thailand & Scott’s seafood restaurant / bar, in London.

The place that gives you the most energy?
Rome, such an amazing city.

And the place that enables you to totally relax?
A tropical island…

Your favourite food and drink?
Seafood and I love good coffee!
