Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
I have trained in interior architecture and design, and have worked in the industry for 15 years. In the last couple of years I have set up my own company.
How would you describe your personal design style?
A modern take on timeless interiors. Family homes and luxurious, understated residential design.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from the world around me, keeping in touch with what’s going on worldwide in terms of trends and also mixing that in to be very liveable for my clients. They want enduring design, and my aim is to bring that with touches that make the designs feel fresh and relevant.
Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2020 and beyond.
Mid century design, maximalism, minimalism, antique revival, and neutral interiors.
If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
For me its always can you live with it long term. That means key, good quality items that work day to day. These, mixed in with some older interesting pieces to give it soul and interest.
How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?
Very important – They are bringing designers to an international stage, and are also showing what is happening on the international stage. These awards help to progress architecture and design.
What projects are you currently working on?
I have a few interesting residential home projects on the go. These take time to develop but I love the process and especially the end result and happy clients.
What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
I have a newly opened luxury design studio and I want to keep enjoying working with clients, building collaborative relationships, and the end result being interesting new designs that are progressive for me and my team.
