Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
My Father was an Architect which has had without doubt a great influence on my choices! As Architects Francine and I have an architectural studies background of course and have shared many experiences but the one background which comes first is our love for travels, a constant desire to walk new places…

How would you describe your personal interior design style?
In our practice, we do not experience interior design independently from architectural design. Somehow this is certainly what defines at best our approach of any new project, working again on the tight relationship we cherish to space and light

Where does your design inspiration come from?
At a certain stage, once inevitable lessons from the past have been digested, everything comes into play, books, music, movies, everyday life, travels and of course the constant flow of images and information we are bathing in…  But before anything else, our first design inspiration comes always from the place, the direct environment of the project, light and interconnection between indoor and outdoor life.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
The global answer which comes first to mind is diversity, from multiple styles to the more than ever easy access to all resources and materials.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2018 and beyond.
Quality of life and comfort before all, Space, Light, Exploring the potential of a few natural materials, Downsizing resources

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to interior design schemes, what would it be?
Let it breathe would come first

How important are The International Design and Architecture Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?
What we are doing, as designers, and our capacity to entertain a passion and allow it to progress and develop is totally dependent on communication and visibility. The IDAA plays that role by pushing forward practices and exposing projects which could have stayed in the shadows.

What projects are you currently working on?
We are working on several private residences in France and USA

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
Certainly, to bring to completion in the best manner an ambitious project currently in construction in California
