Tell us a little about your background in design:
I’ve been creating interiors for more than 15 years from hospitality to bespoke residential designs. I strive to create timeless and inspiring interiors with new elements informed by my travels and consistent visits of numerous design-build exhibitions around the world.
I’m always grateful for my eight years of experience in Roche Bobois designing some of the finest homes for prominent clients and learning everything about furniture customization with highest industry standards but eventually I started to shift my attention to Interior Architecture world with my partner’s support who is an amazing builder.
I truly believe knowledge is the power. After I graduated from Interior Design at BCIT, I decided to achieve my real estate license to have a deeper understanding of property developments. Currently I am a candidate at CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) and working my way to achieve the designations and pursuing my Master’s in Interior Architecture & Design.
How would you describe your personal design style?
I start each project with a white canvas and always push and challenge my creative boundaries to come up with a new concept and style. I enjoy creating minimalistic designs with indoor/outdoor feel as much as designing a luxury Parisian mansion with Nouveaux Classiques.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
I draw my inspirations from everything around the world but mainly from nature and my innate love for the natural world sometimes makes me wonder about the coincidence of my name meaning (Young tree in Farsi) and being born on Earth Day.
In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Fresh, forward-thinking & sustainable design with functional merits.
Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2020 and beyond.
- Sustainability
- Living In Place
- Biophilic design
- health and safety ergonomics in the workplace
- Green Building
If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
Work hard to create an amazing and authentic design concept that will lead to a successful outcome.
