Vero Beach, an 18,400 sq ft contemporary elegant oceanfront residence, is the first interiors project by DJDS in the US. The contemporary new build Vero Beach residence offers magnificent oceanfront living in a stunning setting surrounded by lush gardens.
Completed in summer 2014, the 18,400 sq ft residence occupies almost the entire width of 200 feet of ocean frontage, thus maximizing the ocean views from all primary rooms. Two pool decks, one infinity pool along the Eastern oceanfront and one pool in the secluded Western gardens provide sunny and shaded outdoor areas from the early morning to the early evening.
Large sliding glass doors and thoughtfully placed furniture offer a seamless indoor-outdoor living across the whole ground floor. The client’s brief asked for a contemporary and elegant primary residence with ample indoor and outdoor space to entertain guests and the owner’s extended family in a variety of formal and informal settings.
Given the rather contemporary and understated style of the architecture, the client was not too keen on interiors that shouted “Florida beach house” and was curious to see what an international design outlook could bring to the space. With this in mind, DJDS created interiors of a contemporary elegance combined with international design influences by bringing together artfully applied custom lighting installations, textures, furniture sourced from all over the world, finds from the owner’s travels, vintage pieces and a variety of custom designed furnishings.
