design et al are delighted to announce that Fiona McDonald has been shortlisted for a Table Award in The International Product Design Awards 2015
The Fiona McDonald dining table is inspired by the elegance of 1960s Italian design . We wanted a table that sat gracefully in a room, a table that was classic yet modern. The design appears poised on slender legs with bronze sabots. Large tables are so often overpowering in a space. The mechanism that serves the extending table is ingeniously hidden . It is also incredibly sturdy, allowing it to retain its 4 leg design, even at 4metres long. This particular piece has an Ebonised mahogany frame with an antiqued bronze effect on the sabots, the glass top is also available in a wide range of colours As with all of Fiona McDonald furniture, the clients have freedom over choice of timber and finish. The team recently produced a circular dining table in American black walnut custom made for the clients.
