Original Sokos Hotel Tripla is more than just a hotel. It’s a location in the heart of Pasila that effortlessly combines the urban community and tourists, and experiences and visitors. The hotel provides a calming and peaceful rest for guests, whilst being at the hub of the lively pulse of the Finnish city.
The hotel is easy to reach by means of public transport from the whole of Finland, ideal for both local guests and tourists. The new urban centre that is currently under construction includes the largest shopping centre in the Nordic countries, also home to restaurants, offices, entertainment and apartments. The most important venues in Finland are within walking distance; the hotel is close to Hartwall Arena, trade fair centre Messukeskus, amusement park Linnanmåki, the urban city life in Kallio and the versatile services in downtown Helsinki.
With 430 rooms, the Hotel Tripla is large for Finland, but it doesn’t feel at all like a big hotel. The idea was to create a hotel that was literally the opposite of the hustle and bustle of its busy surroundings of Pasila. It is a large-scale hotel that aims to surprise and delight you with its cosy, home-like and comforting atmosphere. Guests who enjoy nature or exercising can easily find their way to the diverse pedestrian routes in Keskuspuisto park, a perfectly tranquil day out.
The designers incorporated special artisan skills into the project by including many interesting art pieces, created by local artists from the city.
The design strategy centred around the idea of creating a hotel that, despite its large proportions, was human sized at heart. The result was a stylish and timeless hotel built on a sense of community and designed to feel like its own village. Original Sokos Hotel Tripla is a combination of genuine Finnish spirit and a relaxed attitude. The goal is for hotel guests not to feel like a tourist, but instead to feel like they are part of the local community.
