design et al are delighted to announce that Garroni Design has won the Sailing Yacht Award in the IY&A Awards 2016.
Margot is a modern ocean range motor-sailing yacht capable to sail in all conditions, from tropical to extreme seas, for discovery and exploration voyages. High capacity fuel tanks and ability to run under sails make her truly independent, allowing to easily cross Oceans. The elegant lines of the wide hull, conceived by the deeply experienced Italian Garroni Design team, gives the interiors a feeling of spaciousness and high standing comfort.
Margot is to be built by an experienced Polish shipyard, renown for modern and classical super-yachts construction. Hull and deck are of high-strength, designed with welded steel for the maximum resistance for the highest operational reliability. This gives ease of maintenance and repair even in difficult conditions. Hull is partitioned by nine structural stiffened bulkheads, two of which enclose the bottom of the mast and seven of those bulkheads being watertight and generating eight watertight compartments. Each of these are connected with a remote controlled watertight door. Welded aluminium is used for superstructures and flying bridge deck to reduce weights in sheltered areas.
The sophisticated shape of the edge sheer line, underlined by the wide and full length hull windows emphasises its power and elegance of the yacht offering, right from the interiors to the spectacular views of the sea and surroundings. The interior public areas include a wide stern saloon with bar. A separate, elevated pilot compartment overlooks the cinema/entertainment lounge and dining room area. The owner’s private apartment is on the fore part of the main deck whilst guests are hosted in the lower deck, in four en-suite cabins with queen size berths.
