design et al are delighted to announce that Gold Mantis have been shortlisted for Hotel Over 200 Rooms – Asia Pacific Award in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2019.
Located on the bank of Lake Tai -Eden of global, Wyndham Suzhou Fenhu covers an area of 72000m2 with over 300 guest rooms. This luxurious hotel is equipped with large-scale dining banquets, Chinese and Western restaurants, specialty restaurants, convention centres, swimming pools, gyms, SPA, executive lounge and presidential suites. Blessed by the unique geography, it is surrounded by Chinese sea and in the centre of Yangtze River Delta economic circle. Taking advantage of geography and regional economic advantages, Gold Mantis have successfully created artworks full of comfort with South China city characteristics. To get this, Gold Mantis used unique natural materials and colour matching to melt eastern and western architectural characteristics, as well as pay attention to design details and coexistence between human beings and nature. Ultimately, the artwork excels for cultural exchange between east and west, coexistence of folk custom and elegance, a combination between tradition and fashion.
The design concept is represented by famous South China culture, all work starts from elements of water, fish, silk, bridges, and boats which are relevant to South China, from every part of the building to every space, each combination shows continuity of the elements. As an old saying goes “Sculptured by rain and time is South China.” When it comes to hotel function, Gold Mantis focused on a comprehensive experience for the Lobby. An open space is used to encourage socialising, a comfortable big sofa and different desks and chairs spotted here and there. This large space and detail design follows fashion trends of socialising hotels. The design of lobby pursues simplicity and discards outdated luxury and tedious crystal chandeliers, our target is to help our customers find who they are by the adoption of a more easy and fashionable design, as well as a mature and elegant tone.
One Chinese poem reads “I have distinguished guests, adjusting instruments to play excellent music, I have good wine to entertain them.” A full-time restaurant is on the second floor of hotel. The creation is based on stories of family partings and reunions. It shows beauty of modernised food, melting city character and table culture. The interior design is characterised by modernisation with the use of leather, antique, imitation bronze, iron sheet and glass.
The hotel adopts simplicity and comfortable style, reflecting unique South China features. A simple natural and comfortable atmosphere, without detailed decoration. This makes guests feel like they are arriving at home, such tranquil environments can ease people and let them get away from the noisy urban life and enjoy their own vocational heaven.
