Congratulations to Hill House Interiors shortlisted for Residential £10 Million Plus (Project by Value) Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2018

design et al are delighted to announce that Hill House Interiors have been shortlisted for Residential £10 Million Plus (Project by Value) Award within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2018.

When a 22nd floor bankside penthouse was introduced to Hill House Interiors as a blank canvas, they felt duty bound to deliver a scheme as stunning as the 360-degree views enjoyed from this exceptional 4-bedroom duplex home. Relishing the challenge, the talented multi-award winning team took a detailed brief from the clients and created interiors worthy of this iconic landmark and incredibly contemporary building, famous for its dramatic glass pitched roofs and located next to the Tate Modern.

The clients, a professional couple with global business interests, gave Hill House Interiors a detailed brief, confidently underlining their love of strong colour, particularly red, their passion for the exotic wild tiger, and their need of a few quirky surprises to entertain guests as they explore the main reception areas of their fabulous new London home. With the apartment housed in such a unique, contemporary building, Hill House Interiors used the detailed brief as a backdrop to their ideas, manipulating and drawing inspiration from the jungle and tonal hues throughout the process to create a harmonious flow of style throughout the entire apartment.

Coming with certain ideas for specific elements of the home – including a quirky entrance hall, complete with a red leather panelled wall incongruously punctured with porcelain hands peeping out from between the seams – the clients were incredibly happy to be steered by Hill House Interiors’ expertise for the majority of the home, stipulating the highest quality of materials were to be used throughout, with absolutely no expense spared on detail and soft furnishings. Entertaining spaces were key, with both formal and informal areas required for both hosting guests and low-key family gatherings for all members. With three daughters aged between 25 and 15, the client wanted Hill House Interiors to liaise directly with their children, working together to create a bedroom to their own individual tastes, whilst ensuring it tied into the overall scheme.

The bold hues of reds and oranges perfectly reflect the building’s colourful exterior, while the quirky and fun features present a surprising element to this exceedingly high end, luxury duplex’s design. The entire design has been created and crafted around the fantastic views of the London cityscape, with each individual aspect created to enhance the vista from every angle of every room inside.
