Congratulations to Hill House Interiors who have been shortlisted for Living Space – UK Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019

design et al are delighted to announce that Hill House Interiors has been shortlisted for Living Space – UK Award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2019.

Historical meets modern luxury – the ultimate art deco inspired entertaining space in a Grade II Listed apartment. Creating a breath-taking entertainment space in an impressive Grade II Listed building just moments from the Royal Albert Hall, Hill House Interiors painstakingly restored key period features, before giving this large duplex home a truly contemporary update.

Stepping into the grand drawing room, the eye is drawn to the antique mirrored fretwork panels framing the fireplace feature wall, cleverly housing copious amounts of hidden storage, leaving only the most elegant items on display in recessed apertures. Statement glass wall lights by Donghia, and a bespoke chandelier of hand blown, cascading fluted glass creates atmospheric lighting, as unique curved sofas and plump silk cushions continue the feel of modern luxury.

Sitting behind the high gloss black lacquer eight seat dining table, with an oversized glass droplet chandelier suspended from the ceiling, is the epitome of modern day entertaining; a bespoke bar in high gloss black & metallic lacquer, at which sit two lilac velvet bar stools from Hill House’s own furniture range. Tying beautifully into the art deco aesthetic throughout the entire duplex, geometric shaped inlays in mirrored glass reflect the light beautifully, giving an on-trend speakeasy vibe to this Kensington home.

Art by Michael Moebius finishes the playful room, while couture hand woven silk carpets are set into the marble edging throughout the ground floor, helping the flow of the rooms throughout the home run seamlessly into one another.

With the design scheme crafted around key historical elements of this spectacular home, delicate hand moulded motifs decorate the ceiling and frame traditional wall panels, all of which were carefully restored and expertly brought back to life by the Hill House team.
