MID Japan, Inc. have achieved further shortlist success in the International Hotel & Property Awards 2014.
The project, an entire floor renovation with a Lobby Lounge in the Hyatt Regency Tokyo, will compete for the ‘Lobby/Public Areas/Lounge‘ Award.
This renovation in the well-known Hyatt Regency Tokyo is located in the Shinjuku area. Shinjuku is central Tokyo where the Tokyo Metropolitan government office is located. Its design intention is to create a modern contemporary Japanese design to welcome international travellers.
The design team commissioned two local artists to create large Japanese paintings and B&W brush paintings to complete the sophisticated space. The design works so well because it is an international design, full of Japanese/local flavours.
The design aims to give guests a pleasant experience of travelling to Tokyo/Japan. The key aspect of the project is OMOTENASHI, the Japanese mind of hospitality.
