The brief was to create an elegant, comfortable and individual alpine home, using tactile, textural and contemporary materials. Carefully designed ceiling beams and timber walls, helped to conceal a soft and delicate lighting design and sound system. Rich oak, slate floors and dark timber paneling and furniture were used in conjunction to the light soft walls and textural fabrics.
Every aspect of this large chalet was designed, re-designed and designed again, to deliver the best creative solutions for the clients requirements. The space, functionality and style of each room, was individually planned down to the smallest detail. There is a cinema, a sauna & steam room, an après ski area, a breakfast and formal dining area.
The client wanted to approach his ski chalet home with a more contemporary feel rather than the typical twee alpine look, so we concentrated on using rich, soft tweeds and woolen fabrics, combining this with sleek glass, metal, timber and organic furniture and materials. The client now happily now works, lives and entertains in his beautiful chalet during the whole ski season.
