Kenneth Ussenko Design have been shortlisted for Restaurant Within A Hotel – Global Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2020.
MOZEN Asian Kitchen is a multicultural Asian kitchen through the view of a modern American Chinatown. The concept is modern, incorporating both a daytime food order counter and an evening sit down dining experience. With the décor being inspired by the beauty of the Far East.
The design features a contemporary textured palette which forms an outdoor/indoor style restaurant. The project is brought to life by a dining space that features a street-side exposed bar canopied by several dozen giant, custom cocoon glass lanterns. The lanterns are designed to immediately draw patrons to the space from across the hotel and casino floor.
Inside the dining spaces, guests are surrounded by detailed wood panelled walls, with fabrics and textures depicting the beautiful colours and patterns of the Far East. Columns of weaved concrete tiles form an artistic view of baskets, accented by ceilings of large floral panels with white linen pendants blanketing the entire restaurant space.
The restaurant’s design aims to provide a strong, visual experience for guests to enjoy and engage with whilst visiting and dining. This design experience integrates with the new resort remodel as the colour palette, textures and finishes of the restaurant flow with the wider environment, meanwhile fully standing strong as its own brand. Kenneth Ussenko design has provided a strong visual experience to the interior of the hotel, engaging patrons throughout the resort environment.
Kenneth Ussenko design feel the artisans which built the decorative lights for this project were vital to the delivery of the design experience, creating the ambience of the restaurant through the visually stunning lighting pieces. Another key design component to the project were the mill-work artisans, their detailed craftsmanship to the project is the main DNA to the design of Mozen.
MOZEN Asian Kitchen has been designed to be a vibrant and exciting multicultural culinary experience. Inspired by the Far East, the rich blue and gold colour palette compliments the décor, creating a visually interesting and thrilling restaurant for guests to enjoy.
