Xuhui Mansion is located in An’ting, Shanghai. An’ting is an international city famous for its automotive industry. Aside from this, An’ting also developed a budding housing and tourism industry. Xuhui Mansion is one of the three exclusive golf villas in Shanghai. It is about 28 kilometres away from the people’s square and is one of the few city villas in Shanghai. The project has four high-end supporting facilities, namely the 18-hole standard PGA championship golf course and club, Intercontinental Crowne Holiday Inn, and a hospital. The overall style of Xuhui Mansion is modern French style, which integrates classical spirit, such as symmetry, axis, etc., including the classical lines and doorways, into the whole design. The designer hoped to make some breakthroughs in the classical design concept, so a new idea on the integral elements was presented. In the design process, the classic lines are simplified with some of the more modern materials, such as stainless steel to outline the cupboards. When designing the indoor spaces, soft tonal colours were the main desires for the colour system, to present a kind of romantic style. Renowned brands, such as a white leather Fendi sofa, were used throughout the property to radiate a display of luxury.
The whole villa, which belongs to a single-family, consists of a basement, and three floors of space. The four-floor space uses an elevator to connect. The basement level is used for family activities and recreational activities, setting up the bar, playing sports or billiards and other spaces, with open design techniques. The first-floor space contains the sitting room, dining room, kitchen, and afternoon tea room. The second floor has the parent’s and the children’s rooms; all are in the same design concept of the suite. The entire third floor is the master bedroom, which includes the independent cloakroom and the bathroom, and also reflects the positioning of high-end customers.
