design et al are delighted to announce that Lambart & Browne have been shortlisted for Table Award in The Product Design Categories within The International Design and Architecture Awards 2017
Lambart & Browne were commissioned to design & fit a client basement nightclub in St Tropez, France. As part of the scheme several bespoke pieces of furniture were designed including a set of 4 Leopard drinks table.
The legs and frame are steel with a faux bronze finish made by hand skilled metalworkers. Rare gemstone, Tigers Eye is inserted for the torso, mosaicked in a leopard print pattern, inlaid with pyrite and black slate. Tiger’s eye stone is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually a metamorphic rock that is a golden to red-brown colour, with a silk lustre. It is a stone that enhances good luck, and brings prosperity, closely resembling a hawk’s eye. A variety of Quartz which exhibits a fascinating and constantly shifting light effect since the alternating silky gold and brown bands.
Lambart & Browne find a personal approach is paramount when dealing in such a bespoke industry. Co-founder Freddy van Zevenbergen produces hand drawn watercolor sketches of each interior scheme, furniture & elevations, conveying the vision of the space. These watercolours are presented alongside individual mood boards detailing fabrics, furniture & finishes proposed for each room, thus enabling the client to fully visualise and comprehend the concept. The design integrates well within the room. The table elegant whilst holding its own presence creating a sense of luxury.
