Galaxy of Happiness – 53-metre futuristic designed trimaran, 299GRT with 1.5m draught and top speed of 31 knots. The yacht has low fuel consumption at cruise speed 11 knots, giving it a range of 2900miles. The interior has a spacious saloon and open decks, a wide master cabin and two guest cabins. The exterior styling of Galaxy of Happiness did not come from rough sketches showing a “Spaceship on the water” but is instead the result of precise and extensive studies marrying very advanced technologies with artistic commitments. Using its innovative design, Galaxy of Happiness is showing the lowest number, for yachts of its size, in term of consumption and emission. By its sole concept the yacht is particularly eco-friendly, as Galaxy of Happiness needs 40% to 50% less energy to move at the same speed than a monohull of same length. Following the basic concept where the function is creating the form, Latitude Yachts have introduced their own personal vision of the yacht based on their extensive multihull experience. A power yacht trimaran is a complex project to conceive as many options must be managed carefully due to their close interaction. The position of the outriggers is, for example, very sensitive and must be determined following hundreds of parameters. Their choice to position them on the aft part of the yacht came from their previous experiences and will give a much better sea motion and efficiency in rough conditions, this position is closely linked to the wing joining the floaters to the main hull. Again the wing shape is not only nicely styled but is the result of aerodynamic researches in order to create a “Wing effect” at full speed able to lift up the yacht and again improve the performance with less consumed energy.
According to Latitude Yachts, Galaxy of Happiness is today one of the few yachts in the world to be able to sail with zero emission in a total silent mode. The outriggers are equipped with electric engines and retractable propellers allowing the yacht to be fully autonomous using its battery park. But Galaxy of Happiness is not an “engineer’s yacht” where only efficiency and technical parameters are considered… Once the technical side has been specified, analyzed and integrated, they have introduced the emotional and human touch offering this “Wahoo effect” while the external styling is mixing elegance and harmony of the lines, the whole in accordance with the wishes of the owner. The long and sleek lines were parts of the initial brief, giving a very low windage and improving the comfort. The forward deck welcome the amphibious tender located under a retractable “Dome” and the aft stairs are rotating showing a huge swimming platform and storage for the water toys.
