The International Product Design Awards 2013 welcomes Light IQ to the Lighting – Scheme shortlist. The project (who they were introduced to by Alan Higgs Architects) had to provide a scheme that included great task lighting for family feasts, high energy play dates, practical lighting for swimming lessons and a softer ambience for evenings.

The key design concepts included maximising the use of daylight throughout, creating an efficient and maintenance free scheme without compromise to finished result and lastly to treat the pool room as a dynamic piece of art the would be continually viewed from the main living room. The lighting design incorporated a multi-layered approach, concealing light sources in slots, furniture and shadow gaps to ensure discretion.
