Famous for offering best-in-class services to corporate, DoubleTree by Hilton offers an intimate and charming atmosphere, high-quality comfort and a melange of traditional and modern hospitality, The DoubleTree by Hilton Pune-Chinchwad is a full service hotel belonging to Hilton worldwide.
Being the first international branded hotel which has come up in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the twin town city of Pune, India, site is located in an extremely characteristic and lively area, in the heart of Pune’s IT & industrial belt (MIDC). Major Clientele being corporates from the neighbouring IT and Industrial Hub, the owners wanted to create a chic bar where one can unwind after a day’s hectic work; a lounge where elite patrons from the neighbouring area can chill out with family or friends.
Programically, the team designed a bar on the first floor of the hotel. The architectural character of the space emerged as a “Linear Bar”. With the nature of the space being linear, planning and division of spaces was the challenge. Position of the service core further imposed restriction on the position of the bar counter. The canopy of drop off area for the ground level acted as an extension of linear lounge and was to be used as an open-air lounge and smoking area.
Black, browns and greys dominate the whole space with a throw of eclectic reds and stark whites. Display shelves are full of original artefacts as well as the finest malts from all over the world. The engaging play of light and shadow enliven the lounge experience while you flow from one section to another. It portrays the Oriental philosophy of The Absolute, Timeless Communication and The Real World combined together quite ingeniously offering a functional yet emotional and visual delight as well.
