design et al are delighted to announce that Magni have been shortlisted for a Table award with their Manhattan coffee table.
The Manhattan table has a jewelry-like quality to it. The inspiration was a diamond floating in a perfectly-calibrated setting. The 2-inch thick glass top with a starburst pattern is achieved through a multi-layered mould, which is then cast and hand-sand blasted to achieve multiple layers within the glass. This technique bounces light throughout the facets and varying depths of the glass, creating a diamond-like effect.
The colour and quality of the top have a dynamic and ever-changing effect as the light refracts through different angles and layers. The glass is then carefully mounted into a four-pronged setting made up of polished stainless steel points, curving into a satin stainless steel base. At 58 inches wide, the Manhattan has a commanding presence.
